It also only has three plots to play compared to many more in TC. It is the easiest game of the series to play, but the war is never -ending. Quicker to earn credits and rep etc.,although you will still find the odd challenge or two.ĪP uses some TC files and thus is dependent on TC being installed. TC is an overhauled version of the X game-play,making it easier to learn and play. You work hard for rep and credits, but with patience you get there in the end.

Reunion is a tough game, although they all have a steep learning curve.īut with Reunion, you got a better sense of achievement when you finally reached each goal that you set. Started with X- Beyond the Frontier, although the story-line goes back further. Ok.I think you get the drift of the various x-games. Sorry for the scatter-brained reply, but hopefully that at least starts to paint a picture for ya. Simply put, it "includes" reunion in the sense that the same basic universe is there, but it doesn't include it in the sense that things have change, time has passed, and there's lots of new goodies to play with. Where previously there was tension and a few flashpoints, now it has evolved into outright warfare where a handful of sectors are constantly filled with battling fleets and the like. So.the same basic universe is there, but sectors that were previously (for example) Teladi, might now have become Pirate sectors, and so on.Īlso, another big feature in AP not present in former games is the war now being waged between the Terrans and Commonwealth. The difference really is that the basic gameplay and content has evolved a lot further (some might disagree and say its devolved, but I'm avoiding that whole can of worms, I personally like AP more because of its increased user-friendliness). AP includes some nifty new features like Stock Exchanges, a better user interface (UI - menus and such, most notably the universe map, which is larger and much faster to use thanks to the way you can type in sector names and quickly get the one you want), new ships, and new sectors, etc.ĪP requires a "fresh start" too, meaning you cannot incorporate previous saves from earlier versions.

The different versions of X are all basically the same thing, but with more added in each expansion. I'm sure the veterans will be along to explain it in more depth shortly, but I can give you a basic idea at least.
